what are we talking about?
1. How much water will I save with the green cube?
Water savings will depend on the current water control system in your washroom. Many washrooms have no flush control at all and as a result the urinals probably flush every few minutes wasting up to 12-14 litres of fresh water per flush. The average urinal will flush away 40,000 gallons (151,000 litres) of fresh water per year. When the green cube is used it will reduce this figure by 98%. Click "here"to
use our water saving calculator and see how much water your business could save.
Some general estimates:
• |
Large Shopping Centre |
– 3,434,237 gallons (13,000,000 litres) per year |
• |
Small Hotel |
– 259,628 gallons (982,800 litres) per year |
• |

2. How long does a cube last in each urinal?
The green cube will last approximately 4 weeks in each urinal depending on use. When the cube has dissolved to 10% of its original size or it is the size of a nickel, then it should be replaced.
3. What other savings will I recognize?
There is no conversion or retrofit cost. Simply add the cube to your existing urinal and turn off the water at the urinal tap and follow the daily cleaning instructions. The running cost of the green cube system varies due to the wide range of sites in which the system can be used and the differences in usage patterns. Although, the costs of using the green cube system are readily offset by the huge savings in both water supply and sewage
charges. Additional savings can be expected from reduced maintenance costs, blockages, cistern repairs and from the elimination of expensive chemical sanitizers and air fresheners.
4. What keeps the face/wall of the urinal clean, since the green cube sits in the bottom of the urinal
The face/wall of the urinal does not normally cause any problems. Bacteria find it difficult to exist on the urinal face because it's exposed to direct light and it normally dries soon after use. However, as part of the daily cleaning procedure the entire urinal is also cleaned with the green cube Multi Surface Cleaner. The Multi Surface Cleaner is a biodegradable surfactant designed as a general household, hotel and industrial
cleaner which can be used on urinals, tiles, toilets, floors, kitchens etc. and is able to provide residual action against odours.
5. Should we continue with using chemicals and chemical disinfectants?
Chemical products such as bleach, detergents, disinfectants etc. are toxic to the bacteria used in our products. With the daily use of the green cube and the Multi Surface Cleaner there is no need to use any chemical based products in the washroom. Moving away from chemical usage is good for the environment and good for business.

6. How does the green cube improve hygiene?
Wet urinals are constantly damp, which provides the perfect conditions for bacterial growth. When the green cube is used, the water to the urinals is turned off, which creates a dry environment not allowing the bad bacteria to thrive. Your urinal also becomes touch-free, since there is no need to flush. This reduces the transfer of germs to hands. By simply following the daily cleaning procedure the urinal will be kept clean and odour free. So a cleaner
environment for your employees, customers and cleaning staff.
7. Is the green cube safe for the environment?
Yes, the green cube is comprised of good bacteria and is biodegradable and non-toxic.
It has been approved by the EPA in the US and the Ministry of the Environment in Canada.
8. Do our cleaning staff need special cleaning instructions?
The daily cleaning procedure for the green cube system is very simple and safe. You will be provided with the daily cleaning instructions with your purchase of the green cube system. You can also find them on our website. Click here for the instructions.
9. Should you use hot or cold water when cleaning the urinal?
Cold water should only be used with the green cube system; hot water will destroy the beneficial bacteria in the cube.
10. Is the green cube suitable for all urinals?
The green cube system is compatible with most urinals. It is recommended to have a plumber inspect your urinal pipes to make sure there is no damage or faults. In some cases, where a large amount of scale is present blockages may occur because the bacteria in the cube is so efficient at removing it. It is also preferable to use “U” bend in urinals with high traffic. The green cube is
effective in some Waterless urinals to assist with the removal of odours, scale, and expensive cartridge replacements.

11. How many cubes are in each tub?
The green cube comes in tubs of 14 and 50, which are packed 6 or 8 tubs in a box equal to about 300 or 400 cubes per box.
12. What is the shelf life of the cubes?
When stored in a sealed tub in a cool, dry place away from sunlight the cubes last for two years.
13. Is this system safe for septic tanks?
Yes, the green cube System is ideal for septic systems because it adds beneficial bacteria. It allows septic tank users to reduce water consumption similar to the savings with a sewage system. This result is fewer blockages and reduced pumping.
14. How will my visitors know they don't need to flush?
Each urinal will have a sign that informs visitors that this urinal is environmentally friendly and does not require flushing. The sign will demonstrate that your organization or business is concerned about protecting the environment. Click here to download extra signage.
The opportunity for change is available, take advantage and make a difference, one drop at a time.
